Dara Devaney hails from the rural 'Gaeltacht ' area of Conamara on the west coast of Ireland. A native Irish speaker, he began working professionally as an actor in 1999 in the drama series "Ros na Rún". He spent the next few years working extensively in theatre, mostly with the national Irish-language 'An Taibhdhearc' Theatre and Ireland's national theatre, The Abbey. He also spent a year working with Dutch company 'Tryater'. In recent years, Dara has focused on film and taken leading roles in productions, including "Créna Cille", "Nothing Personal","Camelot","Peasant Island","An Bronntannas", "School Run","Above Suspicion","Corp agus Anam","Pursuit", "Rubaí","The Enigma of Frank Ryan", and "Klondike". He has twice been the recipient of the 'Oireachtas' Irish Media Award for Best Actor.
