Associate produced Friend Request Pending, the only short film that Judi Dench has ever done
Featured as a Screen International Star of Tomorrow in 2014 and mentored on Guiding Lights by Warp Films’ Mark Herbert.
His debut feature was the comedy Adult Life Skills, backed by Creative England through BFI Net.Work. It’s a feature adaptation of the BAFTA nominated short Emotional Fusebox. It was written, directed and edited by debut feature filmmaker Rachel Tunnard, and starred Jodie Whittaker. It won the Nora Ephron prize for best female director at the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival, where it world premiered.
It released in approximately 40 UK cinemas and on VOD rental on 24th June, bolstered by a BFI distribution fund award. The film got the highest screen average of all non-studio openers that week, beating Kevin Spacey film Elvis and Nixon. Andrew Orr’s company Independent is handling international sales – deals are currently in progress with Scandinavia, Turkey, the Middle East and Australia secured so far.
Michael is actively developing a slate of new feature film projects.
