Philology in contemporary liberal arts paradigm (MA) 3 ECTS creditsThe course proposes the evaluation of the place and contribution of philology into the 20th century intellectual history (such issues as Cultural Turn, Linquistic Turn, Rethoric Turn, Narrative Turn, Anthropological Turn, etc.). It claims that major research trends in contemporary philology have become central to the humanities and social studies in general.
Russian and European Cultural Bonds (MA) 5 ECTS creditsThe course gives an opportunity to consider the relationship between Russian and Europian cultural contexts in the 20th cent. It gives a focus for a consideration of the singularity of culture and supports comparative research skills. Key topic for discussion is the specific impact Russian culture had on Europe (Russian literary classics, Russian seasons, Constructivism, Montage, Stanislavsky's System, Russian thinkers, and other.)
Literary text in interdisciplinary studies (PhD) 3 ECTS creditsThe course offers new opportunities for scholarship and innovative thinking about literature and suggests that the potency of contemporary research lies in heterogeneous interdisciplinary methods of interrogation.
Literature and Philosophy (MA) 3 ECTS creditsThe course explores the ways in which the key phenomena of literary, philosophical, anthropological and aesthetic nature are related to each other. It is fundamentally concerned with thinking about how we make sense of the world and each other in terms of language and narrative, and demonstrates some examples of close reading in view of philosophical agenda.
