After John Nash, a brilliant but asocial mathematician, accepts secret work in cryptography, his life takes a turn for the nightmarish.
The undisputed classic of the early noughts that won four Oscars – the dazzling film adaptation of a real-life genius, Nobel Prize laureate, game theory and mathematician John Nash's paranoid schizophrenia.
The film follows the main character played by Russel Crowe as he transforms from a shy young man into a grey-headed internationally recognised scientist while being haunted by dangerous hallucinations affected by the society around him paranoid about the Cold War and the confrontation of the Soviet and the American intelligence agencies. Just like Nash himself, the audience can find it difficult to tell reality from the figments of his ill imagination, but the loving woman and his scientific work help him tame his madness if not curb it.
