"Women's View in Contemporary Israeli Cinema"
On April 27, at 16:30, within the framework of the Women's Cinema of Israel program of the Moscow International Film Festival, there's apublic talk with film critics and teachers of the Moscow Film School Anastasia Tikhonova and Oksana Agapova and film historian and the festival curator Ariel Schweitzer.
At the meeting we will talk about the film "Asia", as well as try to understand the peculiarities of the female gaze in modern Israeli cinema and touch upon the issue of the development of the industry after the pandemic.
The drama Asya by Ruthy Pribar about a difficult relationship and the search for a common language between mother and daughter won three prizes at the Tribeca Festival (Best Actress, Best Cinematography, Nora Efron Prize), won awards at the Jerusalem Film Festival and the Ophir National Film Awards, and was nominated from Israel to the Oscars-2021.
The Russian premiere will take place as part of the Israeli Women's Cinema program at the Moscow International Film Festival, and the film will also be released on April 29.
The meeting is being held within the framework of the "Israeli Women's Cinema" program of the Moscow International Film Festival. The screenings are organized by the Embassy of the State of Israel and are timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Israel and Russia.
