How do male screen images influence public ideas about masculinity? How do screen images affect the formation of ideas about gender, how does an image of a man transform into cinema history, how do gender stereotypes of masculinity change and break down into movies and in life?
These questions will be discussed at the Blick'19 festival organized by the Goethe-Institut together with the German Embassy in Moscow. The participants of the discussion are guests of the festival, curator Michael Baute, director Gerd Kroske and cameraman Bernhard Keller, curator of cultural programs of the Goethe-Institut Astrid Vege, Russian film critic Mikhail Ratgauz and documentary film director Elena Pogrebizhskaya, will discuss the development of images of masculinity in cinema.
